Formby Community FC (FCFC) is a registered charity and a thriving grassroots football club with over 30 teams and more than 500 members. We a run by a team of volunteers. The club promotes and develops football opportunities for players of all ages and abilities across male, female, youth, adult, and disability football.
In addition to offering football for all, the club continues to play an active role in the wider Formby community, supporting local residents and organisations.

FORMBY COMMUNITY FC TREASURER
The Role
The Treasurer oversees FCFC’s general bookkeeping and accounting, acting as the primary contact for all the club’s financial queries. The Treasurer will lead on all budget planning, financial reporting, record-keeping, and manage creditors and debtors. The Treasurer must have a strong understanding of basic financial principles.
Please note this is a voluntary role and works alongside the club’s voluntary Committee.
Key Tasks

  • Collecting member subscriptions, team fees and any other money due to the club.
  • Processing and paying invoices.
  • Keeping accurate records of financial transactions using online accounting systems.
  • Ensuring all cash and cheques are promptly deposited.
  • Ensuring funds are spent appropriately.
  • Reporting regularly to the Committee on the club’s financial position.
  • Preparing a year end statement of accounts to present to the auditors.
  • Arranging for the statement of accounts to be audited.
  • Presenting a year-end financial report to the AGM.
  • Financial planning, including an annual budget and monitoring it throughout the year; and
  • Helping to prepare and submit any statutory documents that are required (e.g., grant aid).

Expectations
The club’s voluntary Committee meets quarterly alongside a recently established Finance & Governance Working Group. Meetings are held both face to face and online throughout the season.
Additional to meetings, the Committee also undertake a range of role specific duties. The amount of time dedicated to fulfilling those duties varies throughout the season.
Typically, you can expect to spend at least one hour p/week during the season (September – May) whilst pre-season (June – August) will stretch to at least a couple of hours p/week due to preparations for the new season.

FORMBY COMMUNITY FC
ASSISTANT WELFARE OFFICER
The Role
The Assistant Welfare Officer will support the Club Welfare Officer (CWO) to provide a safe,
inclusive and enjoyable environment for all of the club’s children and young people.
You will be a point of contact for any safeguarding concerns within the club and will support the CWO to ensure all Managers/Assistant Managers and Volunteers hold The FA’s pre-requisite safeguarding qualifications and adhere to FA policy and procedure.
Please note this is a voluntary role and works alongside the club’s voluntary Committee.
Key Tasks

  • Build a strong relationship with Youth League Welfare Officers (YLWO).
  • Build a strong relationship with Liverpool County FA’s Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO).
  • Manage the club’s safeguarding children, antibullying and equality policies.
  • Support the CWO with incidents of poor practice, low-level concerns and allegations.
  • Maintain accurate club reporting and recording procedures and records.
  • Ensure Managers/Assistant Managers/Volunteers complete all mandatory FA training.
  • Manage FA CRB checks/renewals for club volunteers.
  • Promote The FA RESPECT Code of Conduct.
  • Promoting The FA’s RESPECT Programme and help develop best practice processes.
  • Ensure appropriate confidentiality is maintained.
